ABOUT CHRIS

Chris Hayes was elected as the Federal Member for Werriwa in April 2005, and re-elected in 2007.
He and his family have lived in the area for nearly 30 years and during that time has been involved in a number of local organisations including the club secretary to a local rugby league club and a Board Member at Wests Juniors. Chris continues to be involved in local sport and is the proud Patron of the Western Suburbs League Club.
In coming to the Parliament, Chris bought a diverse array of skills and experience with a career that included a period as a union official through to involvement with a business development consultancy.
Chris has consulted to regional health facilities in NSW, the printing industry, aircraft engineering, food processing, power generation companies as well as being an adviser to the NRMA and the Sydney Airport Corporation.

Chris and his wife Bernadette have three children and four grandchildren.
